Partnering to deliver
Advanced Broadband Warrick County
Mainstream Fiber Networks, alongside Warrick County, is in the preliminary stages of a milestone fiber optic broadband project to provide internet service for homes and businesses throughout the county. The route, starting in 2019, will encompass over 100 miles of mainline fiber optic cable and support future service expansions into surrounding areas. Joining the list today is essential to receiving project updates and notifications about fiber optic services in your area.
We expand our services based on demand from the community.
As part of the partnership project, our team will consider and expand fiber optic services in addition to the mainline infrastructure based on the engagement we receive from the community. Joining the Quick Connect List today and spreading the word to neighbors in your area will kickstart the process to receive service by showing us where the most interest lies.
Our fiber optic internet and voice solutions are available to any home within these areas. Residents can sign up to be connected at any time!
Service is coming soon! You are able to sign up for service. Construction of our network infrastructure is currently in progress. Those who join the list early will be the first in the area to be notified and connected.
These areas are being considered for service expansion. In order to get connected, we require more interest through our Quick Connect List to construct in these neighborhoods, or we are in the primary phases of expanding. Neighbors here should join the list, spread the word, and follow their zone! Proactive neighborhood zones get connected first, and those who join the Quick Connect List will receive service updates.
Some areas are not covered by our map. We may simply not be close enough with our mainline network yet, or we have had very little interest shown in these neighborhoods. Many factors go into the design and construction of our network, so when neighbors show us where the most interest is, it tells us where to expand our service.
The map is provided to you for informational purposes only and shows the current status of the project. The map will be updated as the project progresses, changes are made, and expansion areas added based on community interest.
Don’t see our service in your neighborhood on the map? We expand based on interest. Joining our Quick Connect List will keep you informed of the project and tell us where to expand next.
WHAT IS NEXT LEVEL BROADBAND?
Indiana has recently issued a $100 million grant program dedicated to bringing broadband service into rural areas of the state that are suffering from extremely limited access. Each community has the opportunity to apply for funding that would aid in bringing new network infrastructure and internet service to areas throughout the county.
WHEN WILL SERVICE BE AVAILABLE?
The initial phase of the project, scheduled to start in 2019, will service homes and businesses along the mainline route as the infrastructure is built, tested, and ready to be installed to customers. Mainstream will also be considering expansion areas based on community interest as the project progresses and more fiber is installed.
WHAT CAN I DO?
By telling us about the service, or lack of service, you have, you are helping your county collect vital information to apply for funding assistance. Building new infrastructure and supplying service to unserved areas is a major project that requires many resources. Warrick County does have a fiber optic plan secured but is collecting this information to apply for additional funding.
Submitting your information will also help us to keep you informed about the status of these efforts.
WHO IS MAINSTREAM?
We are a locally owned and operated fiber optic internet provider based out of Nashville, Indiana. Our local team is dedicated to delivering comprehensive community infrastructure and a superior broadband solution to rural communities throughout Indiana.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW IS THE PROJECT FUNDED?
Both Mainstream and Warrick County will be contributing funds to the project’s completion. Mainstream is responsible for the completed full network construction prior to being partially reimbursed at the conclusion of the project. No future taxes or fees will be used in funding. More information can be found by visiting the Success Warrick County website.
WHERE WILL SERVICES BE PROVIDED?
The initial phase of the project will serve homes and businesses along the mainline route as the infrastructure is built, tested, and ready to be installed to customers. Mainstream will also be considering expansion areas based on community interest as the project progresses and more fiber is installed. Main towns and critical access businesses, such as schools and hospitals, are included along the primary route to connect priority community locations.
I HAVE SEEN CONSTRUCTION ON MY ROAD OR AM ON THE MAINLINE ROUTE; WHEN CAN I GET SERVICE?
Fiber must be tested and equipped before being activated for customers, so newly installed fiber is not immediately ready to be installed to homes and businesses. Staying informed is critical to know when service will be immediately available in your area or the next steps to being connected.
MY AREA IS NOT COVERED BY THE MAP, WHEN WILL I GET SERVICE?
Areas not shown on the initial route will continue to be considered for expansion based on community demand. Neighborhoods that show the most engagement by joining Mainstream’s request list with high participation will be considered for service first. Additional information to be provided.
WHAT SERVICES WILL BE OFFERED?
Mainstream offers multiple residential internet speeds and voice services with unlimited usage, simplified billing, and a 100% fiber optic connection delivered directly to each residence. Speeds will start at 100 mbps and range up to 1 Gbps. Visit here to see the specific services that we offer. Business Fiber and Dedicated Fiber services will be available to small and large businesses at custom package offerings.
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH THE INSTALLATION COST?
Current standard installation with Mainstream is $200.00. During the installation, an installation technician runs a fiber cable from the mainline directly to the side of your home. Equipment is then placed, specifically, a Network Interface Device (NID) is put on the exterior of the residence, and is connected to a Wi-Fi router that is placed inside the house.
HOW RELIABLE IS THE SERVICE? IS IT AFFECTED BY WEATHER?
Fiber optic service is the most reliable type of internet service available because the cables are often on the same poles as your electrical wires, or they are buried underground, meaning that so long as you have electricity, you should have service. Typically the service is only interrupted by a true break in the cable or regular network upgrades.
WHO PAYS FOR INSTALLATION TO MY HOME OR BUSINESS?
As part of the partnership project and future expansions, Mainstream covers the cost of construction for installing the mainline fiber cables in your neighborhood zone. You are then responsible for the cost of installation from the mainline cable to your home, this is included in the standard installation cost.
