Mainstream Fiber Networks, the Harrison County Real Estate Supporting Organization (RESO), and the Harrison County Community Foundation are working together to provide reliable fiber optic internet to all of Harrison County. The project was to build 115 miles of mainline fiber cable through the county, providing access to thousands of homes and businesses throughout the area.
GROWING WITH HARRISON COUNTY
The project has now exceeded the initially expected mileage, with over 355 miles completed based on community demand and feasibility in addition to the original route. This expanded fiber network is now available to over 8000 homes and businesses in the county.
INFRASTRUCTURE RECOVERY FEE
Mainstream Fiber Networks will collect a $5 monthly Infrastructure Recovery Fee from every customer in Harrison County. 100% of this fee is directed to repay the funding provided by the Harrison County RESO and Harrison County government.

If your neighborhood isn’t connected, be sure to join our list. This allows you to stay informed on the status of the project and recent information about services in your neighborhood. Neighborhoods that have the most interest are first to be considered for expansion.
Our fiber optic internet and voice solutions are available to any home within these areas. Residents can sign up to be connected at any time!
Service is coming soon! You are able to sign up for service. Construction of our network infrastructure is currently in progress. Those who join the list early will be the first in the area to be notified and connected.
These areas are being considered for service expansion. In order to get connected, we require more interest through our Quick Connect List to construct in these neighborhoods, or we are in the primary phases of expanding. Neighbors here should join the list, spread the word, and follow their zone! Proactive neighborhood zones get connected first, and those who join the Quick Connect List will receive service updates.
Some areas are not covered by our map. We may simply not be close enough with our mainline network yet, or we have had very little interest shown in these neighborhoods. Many factors go into the design and construction of our network, so when neighbors show us where the most interest is, it tells us where to expand our service.
The map is provided to you for informational purposes only and shows the current status of the project. The map will be updated as the project progresses, changes are made, and expansion areas added based on community interest.

In order to maintain transparency for the project, and keep Harrison County residents updated, we will be releasing a newsletter quarterly with all updates as well as general news about Mainstream Fiber Networks. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I HAVE SEEN CONSTRUCTION ON MY ROAD OR AM ON THE MAINLINE ROUTE; WHEN CAN I GET SERVICE?
Fiber must be tested and equipped before being activated for customers, so newly installed fiber is not immediately ready to be installed to homes and businesses. Staying informed is critical to know when service will be immediately available in your area or the next steps to being connected.
WHAT SERVICES WILL BE OFFERED?
Mainstream offers two residential internet speeds and voice services with unlimited usage, simplified billing, and a 100% fiber optic connection delivered directly to each residence. Business Fiber and Dedicated Fiber services will be available to small and large businesses at custom package offerings.
HOW MUCH DOES THE SERVICE COST?
Our Unleashed and Unlimited plan offers 1 Gpbs for $69.95, and our Choice Unlimited plan offers 50 mbps for $49.95 a month. Both plans have no additional fees and locked monthly rates for the full term of the contract. For more details on our service plans, our Residential Services page.
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH THE INSTALLATION COST?
Current standard installation with Mainstream is $200.00. During the installation, an installation technician runs a fiber cable from the mainline directly to the side of your home. Equipment is then placed, specifically, a Network Interface Device (NID) is put on the exterior of the residence, and is connected to a Wi-Fi router that is placed inside the house.
HOW RELIABLE IS THE SERVICE? IS IT AFFECTED BY WEATHER?
Fiber optic service is the most reliable type of internet service available because the cables are often on the same poles as your electrical wires, or they are buried underground, meaning that so long as you have electricity, you should have service. Typically the service is only interrupted by a true break in the cable or regular network upgrades.
WHO PAYS FOR INSTALLATION TO MY HOME OR BUSINESS?
As part of the partnership project and future expansions, Mainstream covers the cost of construction for installing the mainline fiber cables in your neighborhood zone. You are then responsible for the cost of installation from the mainline cable to your home, this is included in the standard installation cost.
WILL I NEED TO PURCHASE ANY EQUIPMENT?
All equipment to get the service into your home is provided by and warranted through Mainstream Fiber Networks. However, if you would like additional Wi-Fi coverage or other options, you would need to purchase separate equipment. We offer a managed Wi-Fi option for $14.95 per month that includes a Wi-Fi router fully managed and supported by Mainstream. You can also bring your own router for no additional charge.
